by The Shopping Duck on May 14, 2009

Westgate Properties is the brain child of David A. Siegel, who started a real estate development firm in his garage in 1970. The first Westgate Property opened in 1982, one mile from Disney World and was named Westgate Vacation Villas. Since that time, Westgate has opened four more properties in Florida, plus properties in Missouri, Nevada, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah and Virginia.
