Once every week, we have a family night. We try to come up with different ideas to keep everyone interested. Since I have three children that range in age from 16 to 7, that is sometimes difficult to do. Here are my five favorite family time ideas:
- Play a board game. We love board games at our house. Now that my son is older, it is easy for us to play all together.
- Go outside. It is fun, just to play in the backyard together. My children all love sports so we may play baseball, soccer or basketball.
- Visit another family. We sometimes visit other friends who have children of similar ages. The adults get to talk and the children get to play together.
- Perform an act of service. Baking cookies for another family, helping an elderly neighbor, or other act of service brings us closer together as a family.
- Plan together. Life gets hectic and when we sit down together as a family and plan the weeks to come it makes the kids feel that they are participating in family decision.
One of the new games that my son has been begging me to buy is Minotaurus by Lego. These new games come with Lego blocks where you actually help build the game. He loves Legos and this game looks great for all ages!
