Zhu Zhu pets are quite the rage right now and I was fortunate to be selected by Mom Select to host a party featuring the new line – Kung Zhu. My seven year old son invited some of his friends over for a party featuring the new Kung Zhu pets and accessories.

We received one dozen pets with armor that fits right over the pet. We also received at least a dozen boxes filled with playsets such as the Giant Battle Arena, Special Forces HQ, Wheel of Fire and Ninja Training Ground.

They played with the pets and track for over an hour and were excited that they each received a pet to take home and play with. Since we have the track, they all want to come over and play again.
The only downside, it was so much fun that you might not be able to get your kids to put the track away. With all the pieces that we had, the track did take up a bit of room. This would be a great gift to build on. You could buy your child different pieces for birthdays or other events. Overall, we loved the toys and they kept the boys (aged 7 – 10) entertained for quite a while. My eleven year old daughter even joined in the fun!

It finally rained here today and cooled things off a bit. We have had high temperatures and humidity in New Jersey and it is nice to cool things down. When I had my first daughter, I was fortunate to have a friend that lived nearby who had two small children and was willing to babysit while I worked part time. Later, when I switched to full time work, I need to find a full time day care center for my daughter. After looking a few options, I choose KinderCare Learning Center. I wanted a Center that was close to my work, had separate rooms for each age group and had a developed curriculum for the kids. KinderCare fit all of my criteria.
Although I was worried that this might not be the best choice for my daughter, I was thrilled to see that my daughter loved the center. The learning experiences were great and the way that the children were divided by age groups meant that my daughter would be in classes with children her own age. My daughter attended KinderCare until she went off to Kindergarten. In the meantime, I had two additional children, both which attended KinderCare as well. They also had great experiences at the Center. When I finally decided to stay home, my kids and I were both sad and we knew we would miss the great teachers at KinderCare.

I have a lot of summer driving to do this year! I am driving between Las Vegas and Salt Lake City and then from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles. Then I need to drive from Los Angeles to Yosemite and then from Yosemite back to Las Vegas. Fortunately, I will get breaks in between. I have looked into various radar detectors, but I am not really a speed demon. I am just worried that going even five miles over the speed limit might get me a ticket that I don’t need!
I am collecting a lot of small toys, books and games for my kids to keep them occupied while we drive, but if anyone has good suggestions, please let me know!
Since we host a few barbecues over the summer, it is a must that we get the patio in ship shape condition. I can’t believe how much dirt is all over the patio furniture after the winter. I usually mix up a mild solution of detergent and water so that I can clean off the furniture without a lot of chemicals. Fortunately, we own a power washer that we use to clean the concrete from all the stains and dirt from the winter.
It always seems that the harsher the winter, the dirtier the patio!
I have always been a fan of John Denver. When he came to New Jersey years ago to do a concert, my sister and I went and thoroughly enjoyed the show. I was saddened with his sudden death in 1997. Now, I hear they have a John Denver tribute show at Branson, MO. I have never looked at Branson vacation packages before, but maybe this will just give me the incentive to do so. Every once in a while I get out my John Denver CDs and blast them in the car just to bother my children. I think they are learning to appreciate the music!
