What are some of the careers that are growing the fastest? While some of my friends are taking medical coding training courses, others are going back to college to try and cash in on the big bucks. Here is the top five fastest growing careers:

1. Networks systems and data communications analysts. The number of employees needed will double by 2016. Usually requires a bachelor’s degree. Salary: $73,800 a year

2. Computer software engineers. There will be a 44.6 percent increases by 2016. Bachelor’s degree is needed. Salary: $87,900 a year

3. Financial analysts and personal financial advisors. Will increase by almost 40% by 2016. Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or accounting is usually required. Salary: $66,590 a year

4. Substance abuse and behavioral disorder counselors. Will probably increase about 35% by 2016. You will probably need a master’s degree to become a licensed counselor. Salary: $39,670 a year

5. Physical therapist assistants. The demand for this job is on the rise. You will need a two year degree from an accredited physical therapist assistants program. Salary: $46,300 a year
