I love the voice of Harry Connick, Jr. I have also loved is appearances in various films and television productions. Thanks to One2One Network, 1 was given the opportunity to listen to his new CD – Your Songs. On his new CD, Connick is joined by a jazz band and string orchestra to give you his rendition of some classic songs. I easily recognized every single song on the CD and his rendition of these songs are great!
My favorite song on the CD would have to be Some Enchanted Evening from the musical South Pacific. I love his version – very soft and inviting. Here is the full track list with the original artists listed:
All The Way (Frank Sinatra)
Just The Way You Are (Billy Joel)
Can’t Help Falling In Love With You (Elvis Presley)
And I Love Her (The Beatles)
(They Long To Be) Close To You (The Carpenters)
Besame Mucho (Emilio Tuero)
The Way You Look Tonight (Fred Astaire)
First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (Roberta Flack)
Your Song (Elton John)
Some Enchanted Evening (Rodgers and Hammerstein)
And I Love You So (Don McLean)
Who Can I Turn To? (Tony Bennett)
Smile (Charlie Chaplin)
Mona Lisa (Nat King Cole)
Harry Connick, Jr. is an accomplished musician with tons of awards, but it is his voice that brings everything together on this CD. Usually, I am not a big fan of remade songs, but these songs had just enough familiarity with a jazz styling that attracted my attention. I keep it in the car for when I need some quiet moments! The CD is available in stores or online right now.
