Do you love the rock music of the 80s? I know I do! Right now, as I type this post, I am listening (for the fifth time) to a new CD – Rock of Ages – Original Broadway Cast Recording. This CD is the Original Broadway Cast Recording from the Tony-nominated Broadway spectacular Rock of Ages. The musical is set in 1987 in a legendary Sunset Strip rock club and stars Constantine Maroulis, American Idol finalist, and uses rock hits of the 80s to tell the story. Included are songs by Whitesnake, REO Speedwagon, Styx, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar and more!

While I am not a big fan of “remade” songs, the artistry and arrangement on this CD had me tapping my feet, singing along and enjoying every second! After listening to the CD a few times, my kids were even humming and singing the songs. Here is the tracklisting:

I usually don’t buy too many CDs, because I end up only liking a few of the songs, but I think I enjoyed every song on this CD and the price at Amazon.com is less than $12! Not bad for 22 tracks!
I enjoyed watching the making of the cast album on YouTube. All of the cast members are excited about the project. Since I live close to New York, I think I will put this musical on my list of must sees for the coming year!
