My prescription program is Express Scripts.  I am not able to fill my prescriptions at Walgreens as of December 31, 2011.  Express Scripts is a middleman between pharmacies and employers/health plans.  Although the employers/health plans ultimately pay for the subscription, the payment goes through Express Scripts to the pharmacy.  Express Scripts profits have grown more than two times the average of other similar programs.  In fact, they are growing profits higher than the pharmacies that they service.  Walgreens and Express Scripts used to have a mutually beneficial relationship but this has changed.
