I always keep a book in my car. It seems that I am always waiting for my kids to finish there activities and this is a good time to read. What I didn’t realize was that I would get in a good 30 minutes of reading time when I was stuck on the turnpike the other day. It seems there was an accident that closed all lanes for a short period of time. They actually had to wait for a rv towing service to tow an RV out of the way.
The plus side is that I was able to finish The Candy Shop War by Brandon Mull. The book is geared for the nine to twelve year old group and was an excellent story. I have also loved his Fablehaven series (I am waiting for the newest one to come out in paperback). These books are stories that involve magic, fairies and an estate called Fablehaven. If your child loves the Harry Potter books, or similar stories, I would highly recommend them.

Ah… the infamous “stau” (as they’re called in Germany)!

My daughter is too young for those books but I think I would enjoy them!
