I am excited for the new Indiana Jones movie to open this Thursday. It has been almost 20 years since the last Indiana Jones movie was released. That long!! Wow! Harrison Ford is, of course, revising his role as Indiana Jones. His name was originally Indiana Smith but it was changed on the first day of shooting. From the clips that I have seen, I hope the producers have a lot of car insurance since every vehicle seems to get busted up somehow!
Here are some Indiana Jones facts that you might not have known:
- Tom Selleck was offered the leading role first, but couldn’t get out of his Magnum, PI contract.
- Sean Connery, who plays Indiana’s father in the third film, is only 12 years older than Harrison Ford.
- Harrison Ford was not feeling well when they shot the famous scene where he shoots the man with the big knife. There was supposed to be a long fight scene, but Harrison decided to ad lib at the last moment and just shoot the guy.
- The horse Harrison used in The Last Crusade was the same horse used in Rambo III by Sylvester Stallone.
